Coffeeshop Abraxas is open again! This place has a great decor, a friendly vibe and a great menu. Abraxas is located in the city-centre, right off of tram lines 1, 2, 5, 16 and 25. Cool spot with a fairytale decor. This is a great shop with free internet stations. Their extensive marijuana menu has a great selection of quality products. If you're near Dam Square, it's well worth digging out.

Here is the story of Abraxas Coffeeshop's brief closure, posted on our site while it was happining:
As of 19 February, Coffeeshop Abraxas is (temporarily, we hope) closed for business. During a routine police control, one of the new female employees from Italy was found to be keeping a small amount of MDMA and cocaine in her belongings, for personal use. Naturally, the management was always careful to keep bad seeds away, and control for possible minors trying to enter, but of course they could not frisk their own employees!
We find that the closure of this shop, not caused by their own actions or negligence is a disgrace to the city Amsterdam. We wish them all the best in their efforts to open the shop up once again, to serve their thousands of faithful customers. SG crew.

Easy to find (just off Dam Square), friendly staff and a chilled atmosphere. Really cool features like the ashtrays and drinks are fairly priced. I have just read that this coffeeshop is closing down due to a staff members misconduct... Please do not let this happen!
