Growing Shrooms - Magic Mushroom Home Grow Kits

Grow your own magic mushrooms at home?
That's one of the latest innovations in the home growing market; do it yourself Magic Mushroom Grow Kits.

Magic mushrooms are actually suprisingly easy to grow. Here’s our rundown of what growing magic mushrooms aka shrooms at home is all about.

Pick Your Favorite Magic Mushroom

First you have to make a choice of which magic mushrooms you want to grow. Magic mushrooms, scientifically named Psilocybe Cubensis grow from spores. There are a variety of Psilocybe Cubensis spores to the choose from, including Amazon, B+, Cambodia, Ecuador, Golden Teacher, Hawaii, Thai and Mazatapec - a wide choice of magic mushrooms you can grow in your own home.

Home Grown Shrooms

Once you've decided what you want to grow, you just need the spores and a growing medium, such as rice, rye or perlite & vermiculate, and a clean, warm, dark place to grow them. Some ready to grow starter kits (like the one pictured above from our friends at Azarius) have the growing media already colonized with spores; you basically just add water.

Of course we recommend following the instructions of the kits you buy, but the basic steps are to moisten the growing medium, place the grow box into a bag with a air filter on it, and that's it. Just put your magic mushroom grow kit where it will grow, again a warm, dark place is recommended.

All you need to do then is just watch your little spores grow into mycelium, this is the white material you see growing in the box. The mushrooms will grow grom this, magic mushrooms could be considered the fruit of the mycelium.

Feeling Flush - Harvesting Your Magic Mushrooms

After about 3 weeks you'll get your first harvest of homegrown magic mushrooms. The wonderful thing is this isn't your only harvest; mushrooms grow in stages and you'll get many harvests, called flushes. You will often get 4 or 5 harvests from one magic mushroom grow box.

Enjoy, but remember stay safe during your flight!
