LA videographer and artist Zach Fernandez, a.k.a. Jesus Hands altered the sign on January 1st 2017. He made the alteration by hauling large pieces of black and white tarp up the mountain to the iconic sign, draping them across the center and bottom-right of the last too 'O's to turn them into lowercase 'e's.

Some call it vandalism, some call it a prank, and some call it art; but no matter the aim, it was seen by millions around the world! We talk with Jesus Hands in the video below:
