This must be what backpackers that visit Amsterdam the first time dream off
This is a Budget hotel with a license to have a coffeeshop, but i would not consider it to be one. But ofcourse it's nice for the guests who stay there that they can have a spliff at breakfast.
Marijuana menu: Very poor. They made a selection for the people that are staying in their budget hotel, but i don't think i saw any other customers in there.... guess why?!
Service & staff: I think it was the owner behind the bar. He gave it his best shot to make me feel at home in this very low budget place. His service made this place, not the shop itself.

If you want to get a real local impression, this is for sure one of my favorite places to hang out.
This is the kind of place where you can hang out and chill. Nice local atmosphere and in the morning it's nice and quit. I had a wonderfull and relaxed cup of coffee with a spliff and felt like I was at home.
Marijuana menu: Not to many varieties, but enough to satisfy your needs.
Service & staff: Friendly and relaxed bartender.

If you know the people, I'm sure it will be a lot nicer to stay
As soon as I stepped in I felt like I was on a display stand. Mostly barfly's who seemed very entertained to see a new face. It didn't make me feel very comfertable in there.
Marijuana menu: Simpel, but enough for the un-educated.
Service & staff: Friendly, but also more interested in the new face in their shop and the fact that I am a girl.

To me it was more like a huge trendy people cafe then a coffeeshop. This is not a bad thing, but you have to wear the right outfit to be noticed.

You can tell that people feel very comfertable here. The lay-back vibe with a trendy aftertaste.

Service & staff: The owner must know how to instruct his personel and motivate them to understand what the word "service" means. I hope more coffeeshops will follow their example.

One of the nicer places to go and have coffee around the Red Light District, but i would bring my own gear.
The top-spot at the Nieuwmarkt square. In the morning it's nice and quit. The personel seemed to have the same trouble waking up like i did, but that gave me the perfect oppertunity to stare outside into the red lights.

Very touristy.
For the first timer tourist this is a nice place to start your coffeeshop experience, but for the locals it's not that interesting.

If you don't like to wait in a que for the pooltables, you're at the right address
To me this is the kind of place to go and shoot some pool, not so much a coffeeshop. I remember that my friends and I used to go there 10 years ago and it's still the same. Not good but not bad either.
Marijuana menu: Nothing special, nice enough for a quick spliff. But this mostly had to do with the fact of the bar man not knowing what he actually was selling. And the prices were a bit to expensive.
Service & staff: The personel didn't seem to know a hell of a lot about the products that they were selling. He did appologize for it though. Maybe the next time he'll know some more.

A lot of british and aussies at the time i was there. I kind of liked the idea of me being in a foreign coffeeshop in Amsterdam. It felt like i was on a holliday. Good vibe.

Great place, and beautifull decor. You can tell that the personel actually cares what you think of their shop. They are very proud to be working there.
Marijuana menu: Great, Greater, Greatest. Whatever you want... they have all you could possibly want. I call it the candy-store.
Service & staff: this for the bar personel, not for the hash bar, as they appear to be quite arrogant and not in the mood at all to be at your service. You have to be at theirs. Again, the bar personel is very friendly and make you feel you're at home.

A bit of a spiritual touch, nice insence burning, the sound of a mini waterfall on the backround, local art on the walls, hmmmmmm, feels good.

Nice decor, the bar is amazing art-work, but not to comfertable to sit at for longer then 10 minutes when you're a shorty like me. The Glass lights on the ceiling... very creative.
Marijuana menu: Great menu, like in their other 2 shops. My favorite is still the organic Kalimist. The hash menu is not bad either. I hope this shop will sell more wonderfull organic varieties in the future, as the difference is MEGA with hydro.
