I will definitely go back
My 1st time here in 3 trips to A'dam. It was small but not at all as spartan as I'd read. Very comfy, but we must have hit them at a good time in the evening, because we got a table for two and didn't have to wait at all for service.
Marijuana menu: The menu was fine. We couldn't score bigtime on account of leaving for Paris the next day, but we got a pure pre-rolled of their mixed shake which we did right there. It was Electrifying! Returned 1/03, got excellent Grey Mist Crystal and a couple pre-??? ????
Service & staff: I thought I was going to encounter complete idiots from all the reviews I read. This guy who served us was totally together, and perfectly courteous and attentive. Returned 1/03, same good service, but place packed this time.

Yellow is my favorite color. The whole shop and its furnishings and fixtures are bright yellow. It's pretty neat to see, and would have been comfortable enough to hang a while. Not a particularly scenic area.
Marijuana menu: Very diverse menu specializing in good grades of hash. I just needed a pre-rolled and they didn't have any.
Service & staff: Nice welcoming friendly proprietor. Looks like they've got a good variety of snacks and bevs, no alcohol.

I had walked past this place a couple times without even noticing it. It's a smallll basement club just downstairs from the sidewalk. Don't bump your head. Not a place I would hang, and I didn't.

Good place, but seats are at a premium. If you get up to buy a drink or go to the head, you'll lose your seat. It's cool to sit out on the sidewalk in sunny weather. Popular location.

This is a pretty good setup right on Warmoestraat. Comfortable place to duck into in a sudden shower or if you're tooling around before the other places open up for the day.
Marijuana menu: My first trip in Y2K, they had Bubblegum, that was the best of the entire trip. Went back last year and they had some perfectly decent Northern Lights, but no real connoisseur type stuff. Guess you just have to hit them at the right time.
Service & staff: I liked the service. Nothing warm and fuzzy, but courteous and correct. You get served, and not ignored. They also have beer at reasonable prices and good coffee. I once witnessed the barmaid actually cleaning the house bongs.

Deservedly good reputation brings in the crowds
This place would be great if you could get a seat. I've always had to leave to go sit down somewhere.

Nice large place with room to move around and places to sit. Good location on Warmoestraat. Real good coffee. Unfortunately no beer.

This is a larger version of their Namaste location, comfortable seating and a laid-back atmosphere. We liked it but were tired and left after a joint and two beers.

Service & staff: The barmaid gladly called us a cab on that rainy nite. I think Greenhouse has very courteous and friendly staffs at all three locations.

High-priced beverages, crummy smokeables, loud music
Definitely a tourist shop. Big and opens onto a well-touristed street. Even though it was crowded, there were seats available, especially upstairs by the dealers booth like the last reviewer said.
Marijuana menu: I guess the menu was varied, but the Orange Bud I purchased didn't make the grade. Maybe I just made a bad choice, but in A'dam, there should be no bad choices. I had most of it left over at the end of my trip and tossed it.

Alert! Reviews in Amsterdam Hotspots website indicate that several guests have been attacked and robbed by local punks in cahoots with the bartender.
Marijuana menu: Apparently they were set up by the barkeep, and started out trying to pick the guests pockets, when it escalated into violence.
Service & staff: Similarly read the review in the Amsterdam Coffeshop Directory in which the guest was viciously attacked by the bartender.

This trip I spent much more time in the highest rated shops than ever before
Brown cafe style. Faily large and comfortable with good tables and chairs, a coffeebar with stools. Undoubtedly the coolest jazz playing from a good sound system at conversation volume. This is a mecca for the mature smoker.
Marijuana menu: They have a reknowned menu, and had their famous Super Sage on hand at reasonable prices. They also had the last two winners of the Cannabis Cup hash categories, wasteful, can't get the tape off it.
Service & staff: Very courteous. A bit stand-offish at 1st. No alcohol served or allowed inside or out front. We showed up 1/2 hour early Sunday in crappy weather and the guy let us in and served us. They gotta fix that damn TAPE on the hash!

We hit them as they opened their door at 10 a.m. last Saturday morning. Had the place to ourselves, so we could appreciate the retro-danish-modern furnishings. Bathrooms blow your mind. This is nicer than their Centrum shop. Music was not the greatest?
