This is definately a neighborhood type coffeshop/bar that a lot of the locals come to use, I used to come here about once a week There are some American West memorabilia on the wall.
Marijuana menu: The weed isn't the best here, but it's a great place to bring something that you already have and smoke it.
Service & staff: Service is exceptional in a land of "nonservice." There is one owner guy who is almost always there and makes the best toasties in Amsterdam.

Such a chill shop and a great place to spend a quiet afternoon Really chill atmosphere inside with couches for lounging in addition to three big tables at the back and a few small tables in the front. There is a TV, pinball games, and then chess, checkers, dominoes, and other games to play.
Marijuana menu: Great prices - some of the lowest in the city for good quality weed. Try the Amnesia Dreams or the Santa Maria and you'll be happy you came by.
Service & staff: Two guys mostly work here - an older and a younger one and they are both excellent. They will chat with you about anything in particular or nothing at all and it is their pleasure to get you clean glassware from back behind the counter.
Summary : Such a chill shop and a great place to spend a quiet afternoon. This place isn't frequented by many tourists and is on the fringes of the Dutch Red Light District. This is a small shop located just around the corner from the Universiteit van Amsterdam and not far from Dam Square Small, cramped downstairs with only a table or two but a real chill room is located upstairs.
Marijuana menu: Nothing too exciting - but they do have a special every 8 days for really good prices.
Service & staff: Again, nothing exceptional, but not incredibly rude.

This is a great place if you want to go play pool, smoke, and drink all at the same time Somewhat confusing to find your way around as it is on multiple levels. Somewhat like a warehouse. On the top level one evening I found a cat nursing some little kittens.
Marijuana menu: Didn't waste my time buying weed here, and I recommend that you do the same. It's not of good quality and it is overpriced.
Service & staff: Service? There really isn't any....

La Tertulia is quaint and well worth a visit for an afternoon chill. Great small, local shop with terrace for when its nice out (which is of course never in Amsterdam). The tables are a little small, but there is a waterfall and pond and the atmosphere definately makes up for it.
Marijuana menu: A little pricey, but the quality is good so its understandable. There isn't a huge selection but its definately worth checking out and buying from them.
Service & staff: Great service and delicious shakes.

A great place to stop by and pick up a space cake or a bag to smoke later, but not really the place where you want to chill for Very small shop that is always crowded so its not the best place to chill for a long period of time.
Marijuana menu: The space cakes are the best in Amsterdam. The price can't be beat (f5, I was last there in the guilder days, sorry) and the cakes are actually green with marijuana. They also have great deals on 6 gram bags for f50 of white widow.
Service & staff: The service isn't the best because it is normally crowded, but if they know you and you come by often they have no problems helping you out first.
